Meet Jon Tobin

About me, Jon Tobin
Jon is one of a three-member leadership team at Tobin & Company that also includes his mother, Founder/CEO Justine Tobin, and Operations Manager Judi House. As a vice president of the Firm, Jon leads client projects and orchestrates client due diligence in all areas, including mergers and acquisitions and private placements. He reviews and approves offering circulars, leading our clients through an often complicated process with his approachable style and keen sense of organization. He also oversees the recruitment, training, and day-to-day management of the seasonal junior staff, ensuring they are well-integrated into the team and equipped to support key operational and administrative functions during peak periods.
Prior to joining Tobin & Company, Jon worked in the financial services industry, most recently for Dimensional Fund Advisors. Before Dimensional Fund Advisors, Jon was a Financial Planning Consultant at Raymond James.
Jon’s inclination to help others is ultimately what brought him to the firm. In January 2021, while assisting his mother with a regulatory matter, she was struck by both the quality of his work and the reassurance his support provided. So much so that she remarked, ‘You know, you should just come work for me.’ To her surprise, Jon replied, ‘I’d love to.’
Jon anchors TOBIN’s Manhattan office but regularly works from an office outpost in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. He makes the most of the firm’s virtual status, traveling for pleasure while always being available to clients. Â
Jon is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he earned a BS in Accounting. He is also an Eagle Scout. Jon holds his Series 7, 79, 24 and 66 licenses with FINRA. In his spare time, Jon enjoys spending time outdoors, snow skiing and hiking.
